| Zircon represents
the December birthstone. The
legend of Zircon began when Hyacinth, a Greek youth, was
slain; the wild hyacinth flower was believed to have sprung
from this spilled blood. Since wild hyacinth in
Greece are blue to blue violet, Pliny, the Roman scholar,
compared Zircon the Hyacinth. |
